Winkelman: I will not be happy with play-offs again – it has got to be automatic promotion next season - MK DONS - Milton Keynes Citizen

After weeks or wrangling and most of last season being moaned at Winkelman has increased the budget that Robbo has to work with said to be one of the biggest in the clubs history doesn't really say a lot as first two seasons we were either in admin or just plain skint Allen was giving the biggest budget in then L2  and Ince was given much the same Roberto's and Ince part two was in top ten of League Id imagine this seasons will be less than Ince and Allen had but on par with Roberto's !

Robbo is older and wiser

Despite being away on holiday Karl has managed to keep in touch with the club on what his wife Anne-Marie calls a working holiday. Karl has been in contact with players and agents as he seeks to strengthen the squad for the new season Alan Smith hasn't been answering his phone as he turns it off when he goes to the States but I understand Karl is keen for him to be here next season but I guess that depends on Alan getting any better offers.

Robbo managed to get an interview on the Official site this week which is on the above link.

An old interview but quite relevant with the closure of Wycombe's academy and the recent departure of George Williams is there any future in lower league clubs running an academy ? A lot of players have come through these academies and in a lot of cases kept their clubs afloat or able to compete on a budget I can not help but think if the Prem clubs are allowed to poach all the young talent at silly money lower league clubs academies will close and the Prem clubs will eventually have to work a lot harder to find talent of look abroad !
More short sighted reasoning from the FA/FL/Prem I think.
